Shakespeare in Central Park Presents HAIR

The reviews are in and Shakespeare in Central Park’s presentation of HAIR is a hit! Rumors are already spreading of the possibility that it might find its way on to Broadway.

The tickets are free and the lines are long but well worth the wait I hear. The box office opens at 1pm but lines have been forming since last night.

All this waiting in line seems all to familiar to me now. About a week ago, I was in line waiting hours to get the new iPhone. Waiting in line is the worst! Luckily I’ve always had good company. But imagine being stuck with someone you just don’t care for. An idea that first hit me during the first launch of the iPhone, is sounding so useful right about now. Stay tuned, more to come on this.

Ok, back to HAIR: Here are a couple of rules I was told of while waiting in line:

  • No holding spots for anyone. No exceptions! Sorry mom.
  • Once you leave the line, you loose your spot. Apparently people are showing up, leaving items behind to hold their spot, walking away to run errands hoping to get their spots upon their return — think again!
  • Gotta pee? Go for it! Just tell your neighbor on line that you’ll be right back. They’ll hold your spot.
  • Getting hungry? No worries. A local deli will drop off some hot coffee and food to keep you busy while you wait. They take a little while but they’ll get there. Their number is 212-799-3355.

All in all my morning here has been allright. My neighbors in line are cool and have been keeping me entertained when I’m not on my iPhone. I’ll be back later tonight with my review assuming I get tickets.
